New Oregon commit Jihree Stewart

Corona (Calif.) Centennial defensive back Jihree Stewart has verbally committed to Oregon.

Three-star Centennial defensive back Jihree Stewart has announced he has verbally committed to the University of Oregon.

Stewart delivered his decision via Twitter on Thursday, becoming the Ducks fifth verbal commit of the 2015 class.

"I am now verbally committing to the University of Oregon #GoDucks #WinTheDay #Pac12 #D1Bound." Stewart wrote on Twitter.

The 6-foot, 175-pound prospect unofficially visited Oregon this week and tweeted out a photo of Autzen Stadium on Wednesday. After receiving an offer in March, he told eDuck that he could see himself playing at multiple positions within the Oregon defensive scheme.

"I think that I could fit in anywhere in their defense, whether it's corner, dime or at safety," Stewart said. "They said they see me playing any position."

In addition to Oregon, Stewart held offers from 12 other programs including Arizona State, Boise State, Duke, Oregon State, Utah, Wisconsin, Washington State and Washington.

Stewart joins running back Taj Griffin, tight end Jacob Breeland and offensive linemen Zach Okun and Shane Lemieux as members of the 2015 Oregon recruiting class. Recommended Stories
