Played in 12 games in 2004 mainly on special teams...redshirted in 2003.
High School:
The state 4A Defensive Player of the Year, as selected by The Oregonian...the Three Rivers League Defensive Player of the Year, as well as first team all-state at linebacker...second team all-league running back...PacWestFootball selected him eighth on the West Coast in its linebacker rankings...PrepStar Magazine all-region and Tacoma News Tribune’s Northwest Nuggets team member...Student Sports Magazine All-American team following his senior year...made 133 tackles, including 49 for loss and eight quarterbacks sacks, as a senior...127 tackles and eight sacks as a junior as he earned first team all-league and third team all-state...played fullback on offense, mainly as a blocker in the Lake Oswego offense, and helped the program produce over 5,000 yards rushing as a junior and senior...helped Lake Oswego to the state title game as a senior...played for former OSU All-American wide receiver and OSU Sports Hall of Fame member Steve Coury...former OSU standout cornerback and NFL player Kenny Taylor served as Darkins’ personal trainer...selected to play in the 2003 Les Schwab Bowl, but injuries prevented him from participating.
