"Matt is a good leader who has invested a great deal of time and effort into this program. He's a smart guy who really gives us leadership - the quarterback of the offensive line if you will."

College:
Did a great job of adding weight in his first two years at Oregon State. Backed up Chris Gibson in 2000 and 2001 before earning the starting slot in 2002.

High School:
Was coached by former Oregon State football player Thurman Bell and was named first team all-state on both offense and defense.
