Walls With Designs To Officially Visit Oregon
What kind of contact have you had with Oregon since the recruiting process started for you?
"Coach John Neal -- that's my recruiter and he'd also be my position coach -- we had established a relationship towards the end of my season and he just told me to remain in contact and everything because they do a lot of their recruiting towards the end of the season and they wanted to make sure I was serious with them and everything. So I remained in contact with them and they talked to my coach during spring practice and they offered me during the spring evaluation period. I'm gonna set up an official visit with them. I don't know which week, but I'm gonna set up an official with them. I actually talked to Coach Neal yesterday through e-mail."
Has Coach Neal been the only guy you've been in contact with from Oregon?
"I'm supposed to get in contact with the defensive coordinator (Nick Aliotti). He (Neal) gave me his number so I could establish a relationship with some of the other coaches on the staff."
What is your overall interest in Oregon right now?
"I think it's pretty good. I like them a lot. I'm not afraid to go out there because I have family in California and I think my family would be able to come up there and support me."
Is there anything in particular about the football program that captures your interest?
"Well definitely all the Nike and all the other stuff that they have going on at their school, that's definitely something that stands out to everybody in the college football world. I like Coach Neal and the way he teaches and I got to see the spring game, so I got to see their plays and I understand a lot of it really well. I think also the fact that I'll be an early graduate, so I'll be there during their spring and I'll get time to get to know some of that stuff and I think it could be a really good fit."
How would you describe yourself as a player?
"A lot of people don't think I'm the ideal height, like 6'2", 6'3". I'm 5'11", so a lot of people compare me to Ed Reed -- a big hitter. I used to play hockey, so I love contact. A lot of people see me playing both ways because I play receiver also...I might be better at receiver than defensive back (laughter). A lot of people say I'm explosive and always around the ball."
Do you have a preference as far as which side of the ball you'd like to play?
Is there a guy at the collegiate or professional level that you try to pattern your game after?
"I look at Troy Polamalu and Ed Reed and those people. I know Maika Polamalu, Troy's cousin, so I've talked to Troy a few times and I got to go watch him play one time this year."
What are you looking for in a program?
"Mainly the relationship with the coaches, whether they have my degree or not, and my relationship with the players that are currently attending the university."
Have you thought about what you might want to study when you get to college?
"Yeah, business entrepreneuership."
What are some of the offers that you have right now?
"Well, what I did recently is I cut all my offers down to 11 schools that I'm really interested in. It's Stanford, California, UCLA, Oregon, Tennessee, South Carolina, Michigan, Michigan State, Connecticut, and Virginia."
Is that in any order or is that random?
"That's random. I haven't put anybody in any order yet."
Have you taken any unofficial visits yet or do you plan on taking any later this summer?
"I've visited all those schools except for Virginia and Oregon and Oregon I think I'm gonna get them on an official visit."
