Ohio quarterback Cole Stoudt has seen how the recruiting process works with his older brother. Now…
Stoudt One Of The Midwest's Best
"No I don't."
Have you had any contact with any of the coaches from Oregon?
"I've gotten a couple of letters, but I haven't gotten any phone calls from them. I haven't been able to call anyone there because I don't have any numbers...I've just gotten information and motivation letters and stuff about their staff and everything."
How often do you hear from Oregon?
"I get a couple of letters from them a week. Sometimes I'll get a couple a day."
What would you say your overall interest in Oregon is at this point?
"Well I like all the uniforms (laughter)! They've got a lot of combinations, but I like their program. It would be a good place to go to play football. It's kind of far away, but it would still be a good place to go to."
What stands out to you about Oregon, program wise?
"Well I know they have a lot of athletic people there. They have a bunch of good running backs and receivers and they've always had good, successdul seasons every year."
How would you describe yourself as a player?
"Determined, wanting to win -- I'm not a very big fan of losing...I'm very competitive."
Would you compare yourself to anyone at the collegiate or professional level?
"I don't know. I don't know if I can...I'm probably a dual-threat. I can throw. At my high school we like to throw a lot, but occasionally if I have to run, I'll run. My brother (Louisville quarterback Zach Stoudt), he'll throw a little bit more (than me) -- he's not a big running type -- but I can do the same things as him throwing and occasionally if I have to hit someone (running the ball), I'll hit someone. I'll make some contact at the end of the run because I just like to hit."
What are you looking for in a program?
"A program that throws a lot. A program that wants me, not a program that just wants another quarterback. A program that likes me, likes who I am, and likes how I play and compete."
What offers do you currently hold from other schools?
"Just one from Cincinnati."
What other schools have you been hearing from?
"I've been hearing from Notre Dame, Florida, Ohio State, Michigan, Alabama, Tennessee, Oregon, Virginia, Virginia Tech, and West Virginia."
Deep down, does anyone lead for you at this point?
"I'm kind of waiting to see what happens. I'm just calling all these coaches, seeing what else I can get, but right now it's Cincinnati because that's my only offer I got. But if another school offers me, then they'll be in consideration."
Are you planning on going to any camps this spring or in the summer?
"We have a couple of camps coming up like West Virginia and couple of them close here like Cincinnati and Ohio State so I'll try to get to a couple of those by the summer."
Have you attended or plan to attend any Junior Days?
"Today (Sunday), I had a Junior Day at Cincinnati and next week I'll probably try to get down to Purdue."
