Stanford -- Oregon struggled defensively to find a solution for Andrew Luck. The Stanford freshman quarterback had pinpoint accuracy as he lit up the Ducks for 189 yards and a touchdown. Aided by Toby Gerhart’s straight-ahead running for 110 yards and two touchdowns, Oregon was in a big hole at halftime 31-14.

Luck demonstrated laser-like accuracy as he 9-for-14 hitting receivers at will. Tight end Jim Dray caught Luck's sole touchdown pass. Meanwhile Gerhart was relentless on 22 carries. Stanford was only forced to punt once in the first half.

Cardinal fullback Owen Marecic also scored a rushing touchdown.

Oregon meanwhile struggled to convert first downs. LaMichael James ran for a 60-yard touchdown and Jeremiah Masoli tossed a touchdown to Jeff Maehl to complete the Oregon scoring. Oregon was penalized six times for 62 yards while Stanford was flagged twice.

Stanford amassed 316 yards on 46 plays, holding onto the ball for over 20 minutes. Oregon had 195 total offense.
