Oregon Head Coach Chip Kelly was asked during the Pacific-10 media teleconference on Tuesday the status of corner back Willie Glasper, who was reportedly injured during Tuesday morning practice.
"Day-to-day," responded Kelly to the question of Glasper's status. "We don't talk about injuries here so you're either out or day-to-day."
Glasper is a senior and took the starting job when All-American
Walter Thurmond
III was lost for the season on the opening kickoff of the
California
game. Glasper's work earned him player of the week by the
Oregon
coaching staff.
If Glasper is not available to play this week the Ducks will dive deeper into its talent pool and likely use
Anthony Gildon
,
Scott Grady
,
William Wallace
,
Brian Butterfield
,
Cliff Harris
or even running back
Kenjon Barner
to bolster the depth.
Oregon's defense has only allowed nine points in the last two games.
Kelly was asked what was the differences between
Jeremiah Masoli
and
Nate Costa
at quarterback. The Oregon headman felt the critical difference is simply "experience." Kelly explained that Costa really saw his first playing time during the Cal game after having only played briefly against
USC
and Portland State as a true freshman. Masoli is now listed as day-to-day resulting from a collision during the second quarter of the WSU game. Costa played nearly half of the second quarter and all of the second half as Masoli watched from the sidelines.
