Star of 2007 Sun Bowl Leaving Ducks
Junior Justin Roper began the 2008 season as Oregon's starter but an injury during the Purdue game in the third week of the season knocked him out of the lead signal calling role.
According to several sources, eDuck Sports learned that Roper announced his decision to his teammates on Thursday following workouts.
Roper had a very successful spring game throwing 22-of-34 passes, 301 yards and three touchdowns. He also rushed for 47 more yards.
It had appeared that Roper would be the back up to Jeremiah Masoli, the player that replaced after Roper sustained the injury against Purdue.
There is no immediate indications of Roper's plans for the future.
