Malone Anticipating Oregon Offer
"Yeah, I've had some. They ask about my transcripts and stuff. I met with the coaches when they dropped by. Not too much though, not like phone calls or anything...they came during winter and they're going to be coming this week. I think Wednesday they're going to be coming and they asked for my transcripts about two weeks ago."
Do you remember which coaches you talked to?
"[Tom] Osborne or something like that."
Have they mentioned anything about a potential offer coming through or anything like that?
"No, they haven't."
What would you say your overall interest in Oregon is at this point?
"It's high. I really like the school."
Is there anything in particular about the school that you like?
"I like the football program, because ever since I was younger I really liked Oregon and UCLA. They have really great facilities and stuff like that and I like that too."
How would you describe yourself as a player?
"Always finding something to improve on. I go hard, 100%, all the time. Basically I just go hard and stay try to stay focused and do what I have to do."
Would you compare yourself to anyone at the collegiate or professional level?
"I don't know. It's kind of hard. I've never really thought about of that question."
What are you looking for in a program?
"The biggest thing in a program is the school of education. That's the biggest, far most, thing. The second thing is how I feel with the coaches...if I feel welcome and comfortable around them."
Have you given any thought as to what you might want to major in, in college?
"Psychology or business."
Do you currently hold offers from other schools at this point?
"Yeah I have [officials] from UTEP, Washington, Arizona State, and Nevada...I haven't got the papers yet for Nevada or UTEP yet, but they said they're sending them." *Note: Recently, Malone received an offer from the University of Nebraska
Have there been other schools showing a lot of interest, but have yet to pull the trigger on an offer?
"UCLA has and that's about it...and I heard about Idaho. They're interested."
Do you have a top three, top five at this point?
"I think my top five would have to be: UCLA, Oregon, Cal, Washington, and Arizona State."
Have you been to any, or are you planning on attending any camps this spring?
"The only thing I went to was the the Nike SPARQ one at USC and I was planning on going to the Cal one or the UCLA one."
