Sporting News Pac-10 Coach of the Year

EUGENE, Ore. – University of Oregon head football coach Mike Bellotti has been chosen Pac-10 Coach of the Year by The Sporting News. The magazine's website released its conference award winners on Monday.

The Ducks' 14th-year head coach led his team to a 9-3 overall mark and a second-place conference finish, despite dealing with multiple quarterback injuries for a second straight campaign. Oregon capped it's 7-2 run in the Pac-10 with a record-laden 65-38 victory over then-No. 17 Oregon State in the Civil War.

Bellotti is Oregon's all-time leader in coaching victories with a UO record of 115-55 (.626). The third winningest coach in Pac-10 history is taking the Ducks to the Holiday Bowl on Dec. 30 in San Diego - their 12th bowl game in his 14 seasons at the helm. Recommended Stories
