JJ got things started, running 43 yards untouched to the endzone...
...he took one last look back before heading for paydirt.
After a Duck fumble deep in their own zone, Walter Thurmond came up huge with this pick.
LeGarrette Blount outran Mike Nixon (25) for a 26 yard romp to get the Ducks out of the shadow of their own endzone after the Thurmond pick.
Jeremiah Masoli ran the offense and outran the ASU defense - here he beats ASU's Omar Bolden (3) to the corner...
...but can't outrun him to the endzone, as Bolden recovers in time to push him out. A few plays later Masoli scored on a 3-yard run that faked out the ASU defense and this photographer!
On a 3rd and 1 play, Casey Mathews made this big tackle for no gain forcing an ASU punt that the Ducks would fumble away...
Patrick Chung blitzed a harried Rudy Carpenter and nearly forced a fumble, pinning the Sun Devils deep in their own end.
Jeff Maehl (23) made this spectacular leaping catch over ASU's Spencer Goethel (44), which had to be reviewed...
...and the camera doesn't lie - as you can clearly see, the toe of his right shoe touches the turf long before (no make that
Maehl's catch set up Matt Evenson's bomb of a 52-yard field goal.
Kenny Rowe got to Carpenter just as his arm was moving forward and hit him so hard...
...he knocked Carpenter in the air as the ball went flying. Safe to say Rudy had a rough night.
Don Pellum fires up the defense.
If ASU had any thoughts of coming back at the start of the second half, JJ put them to rest. First he runs through the arm tackle of Saia Falahola (77)...
...then he decides
...elevate like this and make an even cooler photo for all the eDuckers to
...and then land in the endzone...yeah, that's much cooler than going down at the one.
Not to be outdone, LeGarrette Blount spun off a tackle, looked down, but kept running ala Maurice Morris, to the delight of Roper and Bellotti in the background.
Blount finished off the run looking around as if to say
After ASU scored to make it 37-13 Terrance Scott got into the act. He made a great adjustment to come back to the ball...
...grabbed it out of air in front of a helpless Omar Bolden (3)...
...pulled it to the side to protect it from Bolden's attempt to knock it loose...
...came down and sized up linebacker Ryan McFoy, who was bearing down to make an easy tackle...
Lest you think the game was all about offense, get a load of this hit...ASU kept trying to run and Keegan Herring (24) tried to juke Jairus Byrd (32).
Thing is...when he stopped Jairus decided to introduce himself in a most unpleasent manner...squaring up...
...driving with the legs, while giving Mr. Herring a taste of shoulder pad...
...and finishing so strongly he ran right over the top of Herring. Nice to meet you. My names Jairus, but you can call me Mr. Byrd.
...and finishing so strongly he ran right over the top of Herring. Nice to meet you. My name's Jairus, but you can call me Mr. Byrd.
Despite being up big, the Ducks sold out their bodies all night long - here Jeff Maehl goes all out and does his best John Elway In The Super Bowl impression...
It's effort like this that can fire up an entire team...not that the Ducks needed anything to fire them up on Saturday night.
...and somehow he held on to the ball, or as Bill Murray would say
To finish it off, here's a glimpse of the future in the present. See all those red shirts. Watch them disappear...
Free safety Rodney Cox (22) took a bad angle and before he knew it Chris Harper (3), the true freshman with legs like tree trunks, was running past him...
Harper's speed turned in a short pass into a 62-yard catch and run. Look at the separation he gets...
...as Harper heads for his TD it's safe to say that Duck fans should never give up on this team. They are talented and have a lot of fight in them. Hope you enjoyed the slide show...stay positive!

Not to be outdone, LeGarrette Blount spun off a tackle, looked down, but kept running ala Maurice Morris, to the delight of Roper and Bellotti in the background.
Blount finished off the run looking around as if to say "did you all get a shot of that?" Well, honestly, I didn't...linemen have rather large rear ends that can ruin a good photo from time to time.
