Two Ducks Named Pac-10 Players of the Week

Quarterback Jeremiah Masoli and kicker Matt Evensen of Oregon were named U.S. Bank Pac-10 Players of the Week for offense and special teams Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.

Jeremiah Masoli and Matt Evensen played roles in Oregon's 54-20 road win at Arizona State that propelled the Ducks back into the top 25 in the rankings. Masoli, a sophomore from Daly City, Calif., had 232 yards total offense and two touchdowns including 17-of-26 passing (.654) for 147 yards, with a 27-yard touchdown pass. He also led the Ducks in rushing with eight carries for 85 yards (10.6-yard average) and one touchdown. The Oregon offense scored 54 points and piled up 537 yards total offense (304 rushing, 233 passing) and the Ducks were forced to punt only two times in the game.

Evensen, a senior from Portland, Ore., connected on two of three field goal attempts, including making a career-long 52-yard attempt, was 5-5 on PAT attempts and had five of his 10 kickoffs go for touchbacks. It marked the second player of the week honor for Evensen this year.
