Los Angeles -- USC roared out to take a 17-point lead in the second quarter to go in leading at halftime 27-10 over the Oregon Ducks. A back-breaking error and touchdown blew the Ducks out of the water and a shaken Oregon team wandered back toward the dressing room hoping something good can happen in the second half.

Sanchez threw three touchdown passes in a game that looked in the first five minutes of the game like Oregon had copied Oregon State’s game plan by running the ball straight ahead. The Ducks moved the ball steadily by running straight ahead on the first drive and scored on a 1-yard run by Jeremiah Johnson. Ducks were able to add a field goal after Sanchez fumbled the ball at near midfield.

From that point however, things went badly for the Ducks as Sanchez found himself with plenty of time to find his receivers and deliver strikes.

The killer for the Ducks though was in the closing minute of the half when Jaison Williams fumbled the ball at the Oregon 22. A personal foul on Oregon moved the ball to the 11 where Sanchez proceeded to hit Patrick Turner for a touchdown.

The half ended an Oregon trailed 27-10.
