Ra'Shon (Sonny) Harris is a big, soft-spoken man that has labored outside the spotlight on Oregon's…
Still some work for the Oregon Defense to do
Last week the Ducks feasted on the Washington Huskies 44-10, and the Duck defense held the Huskies to 242 yards of total offense with only 95 yards net rushing. Harris was right in the middle of things recording a tackle, but what he also did was draw double teams allowing his teammates to sweep in and chase Washington quarterback Jake Locker all night.
This week the Ducks face a team that lost to UNLV 27-17. Utah State never led against the Rebels, turning the ball over twice and converting just 3-of-15 chances on 3rd down. The Aggies amassed 314 yards of total offense, with the bulk of that total (203) coming through the air.
Senior quarterback and Portland, OR native Sean Setzer was the starter last week and went 10-of-17 for 123 yards.
Sophomore quarterback Diondre Borel led Utah State in rushing with 70 yards on 15 carries and also threw for 80 yards (8-for-16) and one touchdown.
Harris is giving the Aggies respect.
"I think it is an uphill battle no matter who you face, every week," commented Harris.
"I've been here for five years, and you can't sleep on any opponent."
A win should move the Ducks up the ladder but even though the game is not being shown nationally, and the Ducks are favored by 36 points, Harris believes there is plenty of things for the Ducks to do.
"We achieved a lot of goals but we're not quite there yet," admitted Harris. "We still have things we have to work on"
Kickoff for the game is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. and will be televised on the Oregon Sports Network. The game is also on OSN radio and XM satellite radio.
