WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - The Pacific-10 Conference recently recognized seven University of Oregon softball players on its annual Pac-10 All-Academic Teams in an announcement by Commissioner Tom Hansen.

Senior Amie Morris was tabbed to the Pac-10 First Team and is wrapping up a graduate degree in teaching and learning.

Seniors Joanna Gail and Kayleen Hudson were Second-Team picks and major in journalism and family and human services, respectively.

Four others were tabbed as honorable mentions – senior Lovena Chaput, junior Melissa Rice and sophomores Hannah Barril and Blair Williamson.

Gail was also a second-team pick in 2007 to extend a streak of academic success under head coach Kathy Arendsen. The Ducks have celebrated at least two combined first- and second-team selections each of her six years as head coach in 2003 (5), '04 (2), '05 (2), '06 (3) and '07 (3).
