Eugene, Oregon, November 6, 2007 The Oregon Duck basketball team will be kicking off their season by competing in the World Vision Invitational, while also helping children in need.
The
Oregon
Duck basketball team is one of four selected teams to compete at the November 10th - 12th World Vision Basketball Invitational. Using a round-robin format, the games played at the invitational will count toward their season record. Please come out and support the Ducks as they “Get Kids In The Game”.
From Friday November 2nd, the team is also asking Ducks fans to purchase and donate Oregon Duck basketballs at the Autzen and Campus Duck Stores. Fans will receive a 20% discount on this purchase. In addition, fans can either bring a gently used or new basketball to The Duck Stores, or donate online at http://www.worldvision.org/basketballs. A $16 online donation will provide basketballs for two children in the U.S. or around the world!
Basketball and donation collection will also take place onsite at the World Vision Invitational. Participating fans can either bring a ball to Mac Court or purchase one inside for the same 20% discount.
World Vision is a Christian humanitarian organization dedicated to working with children, families and their communities worldwide to reach their full potential by tackling the causes of poverty and injustice. World Vision serves all people regardless of religion, race, ethnicity, or gender.
