Headed back to Ohio HS Football
"I haven't given a commitment yet," Solomon said. "I may wait until the season starts for I do so."
Solomon mentioned that the Oregon coaches have asked him for game film and one of the upsides about returning to Glenville is that the Tarblooders will be on national television three times this season. While Solomon has not yet talked to Glenville's head coach, Ted Ginn, Sr., he does have some familiarity with Glenville after spending his sophomore season there.
Solomon claims that Coach Mike Bellotti has sent a letter offering him a scholarship, and Solomon is aware that the Ducks may only take two or three linemen this season. Solomon understands that if he waits too long the chance of going to Oregon could be lost.
"I'm aware of the situation," Solomon admitted, "Somehow I'm going to get there (Oregon.)"
One of the factors that had been holding him up from making a commitment earlier was his GPA. Before anyone jumps to any conclusions, it is interesting to note that Solomon carries a 3.5 GPA and his parents wanted him to have at least a 3.7 GPA before they would agree to him accepting a scholarship. Since then, the parents and son have reached a compromise -- if he'll maintain his 3.5 GPA they'll consent. The move to Cleveland also puts a damper on him taking his SAT or ACT test, and he'll get that done as soon as he's back in Ohio.
For now though, Jonathan is looking forward to the move, even though he'll miss his friends at Fairfax. Considering the killer schedule Glenville has upcoming, he may not have too much time to think about what is going on in LA.
Solomon said he would let eDuck Sports know his SAT or ACT score as soon as he has it.
