Sprague lineman possible walk-on

Landis Provancha

Offesnive lineman Landis Provancha, 6-5, 275, Salem (Ore.) Sprague HS visited the University of Oregon last weekend and was hosted by Max Unger. The big lineman from a team that won the 4A Championship in 2004 and was knocked out of the playoffs in the quarterfinals in 2005 by Tualatin is pretty certain where he will go to college...at least 90 percent certain.

Oregon has not yet offered Landis Provancha, but if things work out he could walk on and the following year get a scholarship.

"I'm not sure I will be ending up there," said Provancha. "I'm 90 percent sure I will."

Coach Neal Zoumboukos has been Landis' main point of contact although he met with Coach Steve Greatwood and the head coach Mike Bellotti on his trip.

Landis plans to wrestle and participate in Track and Field throwing the shot and discus.

Provancha will decide in mid to late February about the school he'll attend.
