Ifo Ekpre-Olomu

Oregon's senior cornerback Ifo Ekpre-Olomu has been placed on the 2014 Bednarik watch list by the Maxwell Football Club (MFC) as announced by the MFC on Monday.

The Bednarik Award has been presented to the College Defensive Player of the Year since 1995.

Ifo Ekpre-Olomu is entering his senior season and is considered by many to be the best defensive back in college football. While having the opportunity to enter the 2014 NFL draft and was predicted to be a first round pick, Ekpre-Olomu instead chose to stay in school for his final year of eligibility. Last season he the team's second leading tackler with 84 tackles (53 solos) including five tackles for loss. He also had three interceptions, six pass break ups and nine deflections.

The watch list candidates have been chosen by the Maxwell Football Club's selection committee, which analyzes both past performance and future potential.

The Bednarik Award will be presented by the MFC on March 6, 2015 at the Revel Casino Hotel in Atlantic City.
