This past Friday two Oregon offensive and two defensive standouts took part in a players draft. As outlined in Rob Moseley's GoDucks.com story.

Each position group was split into two and team of Marcus Mariota and Hroniss Grasu (Mariasu) and one of Ifo Ekpre-Olomu and Tony Washington (Twifo) selected between the two.

"It's always entertaining," Oregon coach Mark Helfrich remarked at Monday. "We find out a lot of what guys think of each other or of their teammates or coaches."

The intention, according to Helfrich, was to make each position group as even as possible, with equal assortments of starters and "guys that play a considerable amount of time" on each.

Redshirt freshman running back Kani Benoit was a part of the most trade discussions, Helfrich said. But in the end remained with Mariasu.

Helfrich was also gave a "blink evaluation" of some of the spring's top performers and selected quarterback Taylor Ali, linebackers Torrodney Prevot and Oshay Dunmore and offensive guard Hamani Stevens.
