Scott also spoke at some length regarding "one-and-done" basketball players (those freshman that enroll and leave for professional basketball) after one season. Scott is a proponent of players staying until at least the age of 21 and taking more advantage of educational opportunities.
During a question and answer period, Scott was asked about any developments in the conference's negotiations with Direct TV, but Scott indicated that the situation remains the same -- that Direct TV subscribers will not have access to Pac-12 Networks programming.
Additionally, the commissioner was asked about football and basketball games with late start times and Scott admitted that the driving force in dealing with ESPN and Fox is the availability of time slots and the revenue generated by filling those time slots.
