Baumgartner made the win possible with an outstanding catch in the bottom of the eighth inning. The Ducks' right fielder robbed Tanner Donnels when he made a diving catch into the gap saving a run with two outs in the inning.
Oregon (7-0) jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the top of the third inning. The Ducks loaded the bases with two hits and a hit batter before Kevin Minjares, who led off the inning with a single, scored when Baumgartner hit into a double play to give UO a 1-0 lead.
Scott Heineman, who reached when he was hit by a pitch, stole home on the next pitch to give Oregon a 2-0 lead. On the next pitch, Mitchell Tolman blasted a home run to right center to put the Ducks up by three.
LMU (2-5) tied the game with three runs in the bottom of the fifth chasing starter Jordan Spencer, who gave up all three runs in 4.1 innings.
Aaron Payne (2-for-4), Tolman (2-for-4) and A.J. Balta (2-for-4) all led the Ducks with two hits.
