Q & A: Tony James

With signing day just two days away, running back Tony James. a 3-Star running back out of Gainesville High in Gainesville, Fla., answered three questions about his commitment to the Oregon Ducks. James will sign a letter of intent on Wednesday, Feb. 5, making his commitment official.

Q: Why did you chose Oregon?

A: "When I went on my official (visit) there, everyone showed me love. It was a family atmosphere. Instead of coach Campbell being my coach, he was like my dad and my coach."

Q: Oregon has had some very dynamic running backs in the past. How do you feel like you compare with some of them?

A: "I'm a speed person and I also have some power. I feel like I'm a lot like De'Anthony Thomas, LaMichael James and Kenjon (Barner). I can play running back and also slot receiver. I can switch it up between the running back and the slot."

Q: Do you expect to play right away, or redshirt?

A: "I honestly am not expecting anything. The only thing is to go in there with everybody. We'll all compete for the spot and whoever gets it, gets it."
