Baker parts ways with UO

Oregon received shocking news on Friday when Bellevue (Wash.) ATH Budda Baker announced that he will open his recruitment back up and decommit from the school.

Budda Baker has decommitted from the University of Oregon. The Bellevue (Wash.) four-star athlete announced his decision on Twitter Friday afternoon.

"I have decommited from Oregon an decided to reopen my recruitment Coach H an the ducks are a great program just not the right program for me," he tweeted.

Baker respectfully declined to be interviewed when contacted by eDuck shortly after his announcement.

Dawgman.com reported late Friday afternoon that the U.S. Army All-American will officially visit Washington this weekend.

As the top athlete in the Northwest for the 2014 class, Baker's verbal commitment to Oregon right before Christmas was viewed as a major victory for the Ducks, who were battling Washington, UCLA and Arizona State for his services.

Now minus Baker, the Ducks have 16 verbal commitments with less than three weeks to go until National Signing Day.

As of right now, they have no official visitors lined up for this weekend.
