Oregonian Reporting Pellum New DC

The Oregonian is reporting on Saturday morning that Don Pellum, longtime assistant at Oregon will be promoted to Defensive Coordinator to replace Nick Aliotti, who retired following the Alamo Bowl.

Don Pellum has spent 20 years as the linebacker, defensive backs and defensive line coach as well as recruiting coordinator at Oregon. Pellum also served on the staff at Willamette University in Salem and worked for the California Athletic Department.

Pellum played for Rich Brooks at Oregon and graduated in 1985. According to Pellum's profile on Oregon's official website GoDucks.com, he was a graduate assistant at Oregon for two years while completing an advanced degree in telecommunications and film, coaching the tight ends, and assembling the scout teams. He also has completed work toward his Ph.D.

The Oregonian report indicated several sources inside the Oregon Athletic Department have confirmed Pellum's selection as the new defensive coordinator.
