Ducks Swimming Along at the Half

EUGENE, Ore. – Things couldn’t have gone much worse for California as the faced the No. 2 ranked Oregon Ducks In Monsoon like conditions Cal had four fumbles and gave up an interception while the Ducks, let the rain slide off their backs to score often and went into halftime leading 41-3.

Oregon quarterback Marcus Mariota threw for 114 yards on 11-for-22 passing connecting with Josh Huff and Daryle Hawkins for touchdowns. Mariota also rushed for one score.

Starting running back De'Anthony Thomas was knocked out of action on the opening kickoff causing Byron Marshall to carry the load running the ball. Marshall responded with 103 yards on 16 carries and two TDs.

Punt returner Bralon Addison returned a Cal punt 75 yards for a score to complete the Oregon onslaught. Cal got into the scoring column just before the half on a 46-yard field goal by Vincenzo D’Amato. Oregon racked up a total of 291 yards in the first half to Cal’s 175.
