Ducks Offer Local Star

According to his twitter account, Jesuit HS (Portland) linebacker Joey Alfieri has been offered a scholarship by Oregon. Alfieri, 6-3, 210 had an outstanding performance at The Opening in Beaverton earlier this month and indicated if Oregon were to offer it would have a big impact on his recruitment.

In his tweet, Joey Alfieri said, "Just got off the phone with the UO coaches, I've officially been offered by Oregon!"

Alfieri impressed many by his performance at the Oakland Nike Football Training Camp (NFTC) in May by being named MVP of the camp. Then in July, closer to home, he again had a good outing at The Opening by making the finals of the SPARQ competition.

Alfieri is considered as one of the top players in the state of Oregon and has been nominated to play in the US Army All-America Game to be played in January at the Alamo Dome in San Antonio, Texas. Recommended Stories
