Women Advances to NCAA Championships

STANFORD, Calif.—The No. 40 University of Oregon women's golf team advances to the NCAA Championships in Athens, Ga. after finishing tied for sixth place in the NCAA West Regional in Stanford, Calif. The three-day, three-round event concluded Saturday afternoon.

"It was a complete team effort this week," said head coach Ria Scott. "Cassy continued her solid play. Avery stepped it up like she has all spring. Caroline played like a seasoned veteran. Sky had a key birdie for us on the final hole yesterday, and Cali's back nine of 33 on the first day were really important for our team score. Every single shot counts. They played the shots, not the situations."

The Ducks (292-297-300-889) tied for sixth with No. 6 Arizona and San Jose State. No. 1 USC (290-289-280-859) passed No. 12 Purdue (291-286-283-860) on the final day to take first place, while No. 7 Vanderbilt (289-289-291-869) finished third.

USC's Annie Park (67-71-68-206) tied No. 32 Paula Reto (71-69-66-206) of Purdue to finish at the top of the individual leaderboard. Park's teammate No. 18 Kyung Kim (75-72-63-210) finished third after shooting 8-under 63 in Round 3.

No. 55 Cassy Isagawa (69-70-72-211) led the way for the Ducks, finishing in a tie for fifth place in the individual pool after shooting 1-over 72 in the final round. Caroline Inglis (72-71-76-219) ended in a tie for 22nd place, while Cali Hipp (74-80-78-232) and Avery Sills (77-81-74-232) tied for 85th after a strong final round. UO also counted a scorecard from senior Hanule Sky Seo(80-76-81-156).

"It was fun for them to see their hard work come to life in a solid performance. We are excited to throw our ranking out the window and compete with the other 23 teams at the national championship next week," added Scott.
