Day Eight Report: Stanford To Have Surgery

EUGENE, Ore.-Sophomore wide receiver Dwayne Stanford is scheduled for knee surgery, according to wide receiver's coach Matt Lubick.

EUGENE, Ore.-Sophomore wide receiver Dwayne Stanford is scheduled for knee surgery, according to wide receiver's coach Matt Lubick.

Stanford's health came up earlier this week, when he was seen limping following practice. Head coach Mark Helfrich chose not to discuss Stanford's injury Thursday, but Lubick was clear on the matter.

"He had a great start to practice. We're going to get him back when we can get him back," he said.

Lubick was unsure of the exact nature of the injury, but believed it to be an MCL injury.

The 6-foot-5 wide receiver from Cincinnati caught 11 passes for 106 yards a true freshman this past fall. Stanford hauled in five passes for 41 yards against Arizona, but failed to catch a pass for the rest of the season.
