"It makes me feel real good as a player overall," Pickett said. "I'm doing my part and doing my job. I'm just trying to get better, that's all."
Pickett was named defensive most valuable player at the Rivals Under Armour Camp in Los Angeles in early March and said it helped him prove a point to a lot of colleges. It has brought him more attention and he thinks he could be on the verge of another offer.
"As of right now I just have a lot of interest," Pickett said. "I know I've been talking to Purdue a lot. They have a lot of interest in me right now. In the next couple of days we will see what happens."
Pickett also discussed his interest in another school that appeals to him.
"Oregon interests me a lot," Pickett said. "I've been in contact with Coach Fisher and a little bit with Coach Neal. They like me a lot as a cornerback. Coach Nick Aliotti has been to our practices and he likes the way I'm real physical off the line." p> Pickett expects to be attending the Rivals Five-Star Challenge and hopes to receive an invite to The Opening at the Nike campus in Beaverton, OR which could allow him to visit Eugene.
"If I make it up to The Opening, I'll definitely be trying to get there," Pickett said.
