EUGENE, Ore. – Tommy Thorpe and Jimmie Sherfy combined on a three-hit shutout to lead No. 12 Oregon to a 1-0 win over Washington in Pac-12 Conference baseball action Friday night at PK Park.

Thorpe (4-2) got the win holding the Huskies to three hits in eight innings, while striking out seven and walking three. Sherfy picked up his eighth save getting the Huskies in order, including a pair of strikeouts, in the ninth.

Freshman Josh Graham and sophomore Steven Packard both went 2-for-4 helping Oregon (21-6, 7-1 Pac-12) finish with eight hits. The Ducks clinched the three-game series with the win after beating Washington 5-3 in 10 innings on Thursday night.

Graham put the Ducks on top 1-0 in the bottom of the second. The Roseburg native doubled off the top of the wall with one out and then scored on a squeeze bunt by J.J. Altobelli.

The Ducks looked to add a run in the bottom of the seventh, but Kevin Minjares was thrown out at home plate trying to score on a one-out Tyler Baumgartner ground ball to shortstop Erik Forgione.

Minjares did make a run-saving play at third base in the first inning. The Huskies (6-18, 2-6 Pac-12) had runners at the corners with two outs when Minjares robbed Ryan Wiggins of a RBI double when he dove into foul territory and then threw the Washington catcher out at first from his knees to end the inning.

Austin Voth (3-4) took the loss for Washington despite allowing just one run on seven hits in seven innings. He struck out four and walked two.

The Ducks and Huskies wrap up their three-game series Saturday at 7 p.m. at PK Park. The Pac-12 Networks will televise the game.
