Deal Named as Asst Coach to US Team

USA Track & Field announced today that Oregon's Lance Deal has been named as an assistant coach for Team USA as the women's throws coach.

Lance Deal is presently the Director of Track & Field Venues and Program Support of the Oregon Track program. Deal now is currently in his 10th season as a coach in the Oregon track and field program. Deal was a Silver Medalist in the 1996 Olympics in the hammer and was a 21-time national champion and still hold 16 of the top 20 throws by an American. A graduate of Montana State University in 1994, Deal transition into his current role after helpling guide Oregon athletes to a pair of NCAA championships, 21 All-America honors, 12 Pac-10 titles and 25 school records. The 14th IAAF World Outdoor Championships will be held in Moscow, Russia, August 10-18, 2013. Recommended Stories
