Cards coaching search continues

Like it or not,
Andy Reid
won’t be the next head coach of the
Arizona Cardinals
.
Instead, Reid is poised to take over for the
Kansas City Chiefs
where he’ll also have control of personnel decisions, much like he did before being fired by the
Philadelphia Eagles
.
With Reid out of the picture, current defensive coordinator Ray Horton remains a top candidate as does
Denver Broncos
offensive coordinator Mike McCoy. Team president Michael Bidwell will interview McCoy this weekend and we should have a better idea of McCoy’s future in Arizona within the next few days.
Another name that has popped up is
Pittsburgh Steelers
offensive coordinater Todd Haley. Haley, of course, served as the Cardinals’ offensive coordinator under now dismissed head coach Ken Whisenhunt. Previously to landing with the Steelers, Haley had moved on to be Kansas City's head coach before being fired last year.
Regardless of who ends up as Arizona’s next head coach, chances are they’ll already have a plan in place to turnaround an offense that has struggled mightily over the past three years.
The new head coach will also have to illustrate how to turn around QB
Kevin Kolb
, who the franchise appears to still be committed to.
Besides Horton, McCoy and Haley, another name to keep tabs on is
Chip Kelly
. Kelly may be a pipe dream for Cardinals fans due to other more attractive openings across the league but it still remains a possibility. The Eagles and
Cleveland Browns
have been rumored to be the most likely landing spots for Kelly.
As for the vacant general manager position, Morocco Brown has emerged as a viable candidate. Brown is currently the director of player personnel for the
Washington Redskins
.
In addition to Brown, Steve Keim is also being considered for the opening. Keim is currently the vice president of player personnel for Arizona.
