Cal visit still on for OL Riley Sorenson

Santa Margarita (Calif.) offensive lineman Riley Sorenson is focusing on two schools and has one official visit set up for early December.

Riley Sorenson was a three-year starter for one of the state's premier programs. He's a massive tackle prospect and could be closing in on making his college decision.

A few weeks ago, Sorenson set up an official visit to California. Since that time, the Bears fired former head coach Jeff Tedford but Sorenson said his visit is still on.

"I just talked to Coach M (Jim Michalczik, Cal OL/OC) yesterday," Sorenson said. "He said the trip is still on and they really want me to be a Bear. He's a great coach and said he's hoping he'll be retained by the new head coach because he really likes it at Cal. This will be my first visit so I'm really looking forward to it."

Sorenson said he still has interest in Washington as well and the Huskies and the Bears are the two schools he's focusing on.

"I haven't set a visit date with Washington yet but hopefully I can do that soon," Sorenson said. "Coach Cozzetto at UW is the one I talk to but it has been a while. Cal is definitely recruiting me the hardest right now but I would like to visit both of these two schools before I make my decision. That would be great if I could do that and then make my decision around Christmas time."
