James Player of the Week

Oregon running back LaMichael James was named Walter Camp national player of the week in addition to being named as the Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week for the second time in a row. James ran for 239 yards and scoring one touchdown against California last Thursday night before leaving the game with an injured elbow.

LaMichael James, a junior from Texarkana, Texas, ran 30 times for 239 yards and a touchdown in the Ducks' 43-15 victory over Cal, posting his third consecutive 200-yard rushing effort and sixth of his career. James became the first FBS player with three straight 200-yard games since Tulane's Matt Forte in 2007 and the first Pac-12 player to accomplish the feat since USC's Marcus Allen in 1981.

Oregon's first unanimous All-America and Doak Walker Award winner as the nation’s top running back in 2010, James is currently the national leader in rushing (170.4) and all-purpose yards (229.6), and is tied for fifth in scoring average (12.0). His 4,129 rushing yards rank first at Oregon and fifth all-time in the Pac-12.

The weekly conference honor was the fourth of James' career, having also earned the distinction on offense following wins over Arizona in Week 4, Stanford in 2010 and USC in '09.

According to a media release from the University of Oregon James was named the Walter Camp national player of the week on Sunday. It was the second time in his career to earn the distinction, having also claimed the Camp weekly honor after last year's home victory over Stanford.
