EUGENE, Ore. -- University of Oregon head men's basketball coach Dana Altman announced the signing of Carlos Emory to a National Letter of Intent. Emory, a 6-7 forward from Howard College, will be a junior in eligibility for the upcoming 2011-12 season.

Emory is the sixth newcomer added to the team for 2011-12. He joins mid-year transfer Devoe Joseph (Pickering, Ontario/Minnesota), and four prep standouts who signed NLIs in November of 2010: guards Bruce Barron (Carbondale, Ill./Brehm Preparatory School), Jabari Brown (Oakland, Calif./Oakland HS) and Brett Kingma (Mill Creek, Wash./Jackson HS), along with center Austin Kuemper (Portland, Ore./Westview HS).

Played two seasons at Howard College in Big Springs, Tex., helping his team to a 57-7 overall record … Averaged a team-leading 16.4 points and 7.9 rebounds and was named first team NJCAA All-American in 2010-11 … Also tabbed the MVP of the Western Junior College Athletic Conference this past season … A starter on the 2009-10 squad that went 33-2 and won the NJCAA title … Also considered Georgetown, Texas, West Virginia, Oklahoma State and Utah.
