Keeney A Different Kind Of Quarterback
"No. Not right now."
What is your overall interest in Oregon at this point?
"Well everybody always feels Oregon because everyone thinks they're 'sweet' or 'sick' and I do too. I like Chip Kelly's offense. I'm not the prototypical spread option guy, but I like what they do with Darron Thomas and obviously they have a great program, so a lot is promising there...they're just a big-time program and I don't know anyone that doesn't like wearing the cool uniforms, being part of a cool spread offense, having all the facilites that Oregon has, and of course the great coaching staff that can get you on to the National Championship."
How would you describe yourself as a player?
"Probably a passer...I can run, but some of the throws we do I roll out. I can roll out and throw a lot. I'm a pocket and roll out passer, so whatever you want to call that, but we don't really have any designed plays really for me to run the ball downfield."
Is there a player at collegiate or professional level that you try to pattern your game after at all?
"I'd say right now, Andrew Luck is doing a good job at Stanford. What he does with the Stanford offense with how complex it is and how many different things they have, along with his physical talents that he has and tools that he was born with is something I like."
What are some of the things that you're looking for in a program?
"The stability of the program, if they have a good coaching staff, academics of course -- you gotta get that education -- and probably how many people are in front of me at the school. Obviously, there's going to be a few, but some are worse than others."
Have you given any thought as to what you might want to major in when you get to college?
"I probably want to study business."
Do you have any offers from other schools?
"None right now."
Do you have any favorites out of the schools have or have not contacted you?
"Not at this point."
Do you have any plans to go to any camps? Junior Days? Unofficial visits?
"For camps, I'm gonna go to the Nike 'invite-only' camp/combine thing that's a two-dayer, but I think I'm gonna do the skills part up at Stanford. I'm gonna go to the Berkeley Elite 11 (too)."
