Conference Player of the Week

Senior Joevan Catron was named Pacific-10 Conference Player of the Week today according to the Pac-10 web site for the week ending on February 6. Catron led the Ducks to a sweep over the Washington schools last weekend.

Joevan Catron averaged 18.5 points, 9.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.0 steals in the last two games. The Ducks beat Washington on Saturday 81-76, for Oregon's first win over a ranked opponent this season. Catron had 20 points against the Huskies and pulled down nine rebounds.

Last Thursday night, Oregon handled Washington State 69-43 with Catron tallying 17 points, nine rebounds and three assists.

Of his eight career 20-point efforts, seven have occurred this season. Catron has led the Ducks in scoring 14 times and grabbed a team-high in rebounds 13 times this season.

It is Catron's first career Pac-10 Player of the Week honor and the 29th weekly recognition for Oregon all-time.
