Oregon head coach Chip Kelly

After a critical bye week coming off their narrow victory at California a little over a week ago, the Ducks returned to practice Sunday morning in preparation for their Black Friday game vs. Arizona.
1. In returning to the practice field this morning,
Oregon
head coach
Chip Kelly
said that he was very satisfied with the way his team responded physically and mentally after coming off their bye week last week. Kelly said his team practiced well Wednesday and Friday and was happy to get back in to the swing of things starting today with game week preparation for Oregon's Friday tilt with
Arizona
at Autzen Stadium.
"Today is like a Monday for us," remarked Kelly, "maybe even a little bit more of a Monday because we didn't have a game. We got a little bit more of our game plan in, we got two real good scout periods in...we're where we need to be right now."
2. Coming off the Ducks' nerve-racking win two Saturdays ago in Berkeley, Kelly stated that the focus offensively hasn't changed leading up to the Arizona game this Friday. Against Cal, the Oregon offense struggled mightily finding any semblance of rhythm, gaining a season-low 317 yards of total offense while only managing one offensive touchdown in the their 15-13 victory over the Golden Bears.
"It's the same thing the focus is every week," said Kelly of his team's objectives. "Fundamentals, blocking, staying on blocks, ball security, timing with our receivers...just the normal things. Nothing really changes."
3. Kelly also maintains that his team's psyche hasn't changed since their narrow escape from the Bay Area. The Ducks' 2-point victory has been their closest margin of victory this season, though Kelly says his team's attitude has remained virtually unchanged.
"I think we've been the same," said Kelly. "Our guys -- and we talk about it all the time -- we don't get too up after a win and we don't get too down after anything, we just come back out and play.
"We don't look at Cal anymore. We stopped looking at Cal the day after the Cal game. We're done. Let's move on and let go on to our next opponent cause it's about staying forward and not looking in the rear-view mirror and continuing to get better."
Official Oregon Injury Report:
QB Nate Costa (knee), DB
Marcus Davis
(knee), RB
Andres Reed
(ankle), WR
Lavasier Tuinei
(shoulder), OL
Darrion Weems
(leg)
*Weems was without pads today, but wore his helmet along with a red non-contact jersey. He seemed to be moving around well despite the leg injury. The status of Lavasier Tuinei is a little more murky. There's speculation that Tuinei's shoulder injury suffered against Cal might be season-ending, however Kelly offered no details on Tuinei's injury today saying that he was "day-to-day". Tuinei wore a wrap around his shoulder as he stood in street clothes with the offense this morning. Running back
LaMichael James
was in pads and wearing standard practice attire though was limited in his action this morning. James suffered a lower leg injury at Cal, but wasn't listed on the injury report today and appeared to be in good spirits and walking around normally. Cornerback
Cliff Harris
and running back
Remene Alston
had excused absences Sunday. Alston showed up towards the end of practice in street clothes.
